It’s rare that most people spend a lot of time thinking about the roof. So long as it is doing its job, it is pretty much out of site and out of mind. But roofs are the hardest working materials of a home. They are under constant wear and tear by sun, rain, snow, hail and wind. Each of these elements cause roofs to degrade over time.

Roof maintenance can add to the lifetime of a roof, but even with the best of routine care, a roof is eventually going to meet a storm that breaks through or just lose enough of the granular material for asphalt or coatings for metal roofs to mean that a replacement is necessary.

Asphalt roofs have a life expectancy of about 15 -20 years. Metal roofs will last about double that time. But that assumes that you have regular roof inspections, apply coatings for metal roofs every decade or so and replace any worn ring seals and weather damaged shingles regularly.

At Ridgeline Roofing Company we are happy to inspect your roof and provide you a free estimate for what might be needed for maintenance, repair or replacement for your roof.
